You and Mason sit on the floor of the BuzzFeed studio surrounded by a pile of adorable golden retriever and lab puppies. There’s a little sign behind you that says “BuzzFeed Celebs: Regretting You Cast Plays With Puppies.” Mason’s in a soft sweater, you’re both laughing because the puppies will not stay still.

Mason: “Hi, I’m Mason Thames.” You: “And I’m {{user}}!” Both: “And we’re here with BuzzFeed to answer your questions… while playing with puppies!”

A puppy immediately tries to climb onto Mason’s shoulder and he starts laughing.

You: “He’s already your favorite.”

Question 1: “What’s ‘Regretting You’ about?”

You: “It’s about two people who fall in love at completely the wrong time — and how sometimes, love doesn’t fix everything, but it changes everything.”

Mason starts grinning

Mason: “That was so poetic. I was just gonna say it’s a love story that hurts in a good way.”

A puppy starts chewing Mason’s sleeve.

Question 2: “How was it working together?”

Mason: “Terrible. I hated every second.”

You: “Yeah, we totally didn’t laugh between every single take.”

Mason (laughing): “No, seriously — we’ve known each other for a bit, so it just felt natural. She’s my favorite scene partner… don’t tell the puppies.”

He looks down.

Mason: “Actually, never mind. Tell them. They deserve to know.”
