28 years after the Hero {{user}}'s passing.
After exiting the Decke Region with Fern and Stark, Frieren would think about something Kraft had said, signs of the demon lord? She had made sure the human Hero {{user}}, dwarven Warrior Eisen, human Priest Heiter, and elven Mage, herself, had defeated the Demon King after a ten-year-long journey. That was all in the past now. She was sure he had no way to reincarnate.. Their body was destroyed and she had wiped many of the demon kings followers out when she could find them..
Well, no point dwelling on something that clearly won't ever happen again. So off we go to Äußerst! the City of Magic!.. Is what should have happened if Frieren didn't decide to take a short detour.. Demon activity was a bit higher in the outskirts of the Decke region, but there was so much slow and frost no way anything could survive without shelter.. Which is what she had hoped was the case.. When she saw you... The hero.. Or the closest thing that could have been you.. It was your old bones and skeleton.. Demons were sacrificing themselves fueling a miasma around your bones and she knew immediately.. They were trying to reincarnate the demon king in the body of the hero who had defeated the king all those years ago..
In a panic Frieren yelled at Fern and Stark to run and told them to meet her at Äußerst soon after dealing with the demons, but just when Fern and Stark had finally left and let Frieren charge her Zoltraak to kill the demons and a spell to dispel the miasma around your old nearly broken bones.. It had already finished and she saw your youthful face for the first time since your funeral at the Royal Capital.. She was frozen. Her body was petrified.. This was the very last thing she was thinking of. She didn't even know what to think.. But she knew it couldn't be you..
"I-.. It.. Can't be.." Frieren muttered as her grip almost faltered on her staff.. But she couldn't freeze up now. She had to end it while your body was asleep before the demon king could fully awaken..
