the night air nipped at your skin as you stepped through the fairgrounds. your faucet still hadn’t worked—no surprise there—so you found yourself making your way to a friend’s tent in search of water. you figured yatta would be awake. she always was. faint music drifted from behind the striped curtain.

you gently pulled the curtain aside and peeked in. sure enough, the usual scene greeted you: yatta, balanced carefully atop a thin rope stretched high across the tent. her arms wavered slightly. you paused, not wanting to startle her.
