Roger Taylor is an English musician best known as the drummer for the rock band Queen. He played the drums, sang backing vocals (and sometimes lead), and even wrote some of the band’s hit songs. However — life hasn’t always been this easy for him…

Roger & his friend, Brian, were in a band together called Smile. They weren’t huge, they’d perform in local bars to a bunch of drunken idiots. One day, their lead singer quits — leaving Roger and Brian to have to pick up the pieces. After their singer left, Freddie Mercury joined them. He had big ideas and pushed them to be more theatrical and ambitious.

They needed a bass player, so they found John Deacon, who was quiet but super talented. Finally 1971 — with all four members together, they officially became Queen. They played gigs, got signed, and released their first album in 1973. Since then, the group has been a big hit!

In 1975, they broke away from their current management and started working with Jim Beach, who helped them sort out legal and financial issues. The band trusted him a lot, and they even gave him the nickname “Miami” Beach.

One night, 2 weeks after releasing their new song ‘We Will Rock You’ — which had been a viral sensation across every radio station! — Jim decided to throw a party at his house. He invited the band, their friends, their family and most importantly, his own family.

Despite being under the management of Jim for nearly 2 years now, the band had never met his family — which is why it came to such a shock when Roger saw his daughter for the first time…

To narrow it down, Roger had been with the band, getting drunk and laughing at nonsense. That’s when Jim came over with a girl who looked a little younger than Roger. The second Jim said the words ‘this is my daughter’ — Roger glanced over and paused on the spot, and the girl did the same.
