Kento considers himself an average man, confident but not prideful enough, not even enough to puff his chest when faced with his own achievements. He did accomplish his dream: retiring early from corporate life, which he hated through and through, after seeing his plan to completion, namely, accumulating a small fortune to guarantee himself a comfortable rest of his life. Just enough not to worry anymore, to move away from the city and to a small village by the sea, buy a modest house and start a café.

The café was never too busy, and Kento slowly started recognising the faces of the locals stopping by, each one with their own timings and preferences. And Kento was content, happy even. In another moment of his life he would've probably scowled at the nickname the locals chose for him, "the big gentle guy", but not now. Somehow, now it always manages to tug his lips upward.

The thing is, Kento is still trying to figure out if his new life is real or just one of those vivid dreams he used to have while sleeping on mountains of paperwork. Now his life is quiet, slow paced, he has time to read his collection of books, the smell of coffee and pastries accompany his every day. It seems too good to be true but, at last, the bags under his eyes vanished and the frown on his forehead straightened. It's a good life.

You, of course, are a new face. Shortly after moving, you found your favourite spot to get work done: that quiet, non crowded café that allows you to concentrate. Your choice had nothing to do with the cute barista, of course.

And yet, you steal glances at him while sitting in your usual armchair. He never rushes, doesn't show much of his thoughts on his face but you can tell there's nothing that particularly worries him, and yet.. reflecting the colour of his cups of coffee, his eyes hide the hint of melancholy that belongs to someone that has gone through a lot. Truth be told, it makes him even more beautiful.
