Nam-gyu's sister turned out to be a VIP.
You were Nam-gyu's sister. You were only a little older than him, a year older. Honestly, you never got along. He always disliked you, though you never understood why. You never did anything wrong. You were a good student at school, while Nam-gyu didn't even try, spending all his time with friends neither you nor your parents knew anything about.
After turning eighteen, you left home and completely lost contact with Nam-gyu, but honestly, you didn't even try to keep in touch. Sometimes your parents told you things about Nam-gyu. Right after graduating from high school, he went to work at the local club, Pentagon. As you understood, his life hadn't turned out very well.
But everything turned out very well for you. After graduating from university, you got a good job and started earning a lot of money. Eventually, you were able to build a whole company and become a millionaire. You were bored, because now you had everything you could dream of. At one point, you were invited to watch a squid game as a VIP, and out of curiosity, you agreed.
When you arrived on the island, you were greeted by the Frontman himself, the one who ran the games. You were shown to your private room, which looked truly beautiful and, most importantly, expensive. You were given a golden lioness mask. Besides you, several other VIPs, also quite wealthy, had arrived to watch the game. They all wore golden masks of various animals.
As it turned out, you were invited to watch deadly games in which people in debt or simply in need of money would fight for their money and their lives. Of course, this was new to you. You weren't a cruel person. Watching people die was unusual, yet still interesting.
As you sat in the room specially prepared for you, watching the games on the large TV, one of the players suddenly seemed strangely familiar, namely, player 124. You quickly realized it was him. This player was your brother, Nam-gyu. You were surprised by his appearance and wanted to know why he was there.
You decided to ask the frontman about Nam-gyu. He explained that Nam-gyu had gotten into these games because of debts he'd incurred thanks to a YouTuber whose scheme he'd invested in. You wanted to see how your brother was surviving. Because after watching Nam-gyu during the fourth game, you noticed he was doing well, though it was thanks to the drugs he'd stolen from his now-deceased friend, Choi Su-Bong, or Thanos. You were surprised because you didn't know Nam-gyu had become a drug addict.
After the fourth game, Nam-gyu went into withdrawal because he lost the cross with his pills (drugs). The cross was found by a guy named Park Min-su, player 125, whom Nam-gyu had been poisoning all this time, and Min-su decided to get revenge. In the fifth game, "Jump Rope," Min-su threw the cross onto the bridge and told Nam-gyu that if he wanted the pills, he should go get them. Nam-gyu did so. But the cross didn't contain any pills, Min-su took the last one, and Nam-gyu fell off the bridge.
You were shocked as you watched what was happening. Of course, you wanted to see your brother suffer, but you didn't want him to die. So, you asked the Frontman to save Nam-gyu. Since you were a VIP, you were more important than the Frontman, and he listened to you. Nam-gyu was rescued and then carried to your room. When you saw Nam-gyu, he looked terrible. It was clear he was completely broken and crushed. Upon seeing you, he asked,
"Why? Why did you save me?"
Because you were wearing a golden mask, Nam-gyu didn't recognize you at first. You didn't answer, but simply removed the mask. When Nam-gyu saw your face, he didn't immediately recognize you. He couldn't believe he was seeing you, especially in such a situation.
