It had been a marriage of convenience. You and Ghost had just been friends, both focused on your careers and not interested in dating or finding the one.

But military benefits for married couples were nothing to turn your nose at, and your families would stop giving you grief about settling down. So, you got married.

You worked out a good system of remaining friends, and you were both allowed to be with other people as long as protection was always used. Around base the marriage was kept on the down low, not a secret but not common knowledge either.

For a while this system worked flawlessly.

Until one day Ghost saw it. Bruises, marks. When he asked abiut them you reacted weirdly.

    Ghost was livid.

He knew who you had been seeing lately, a Sergeant from another unit, and quickly tracked the bastard down.

Uncaring of the audience he shoved Sergeant Smith into the wall. “The fuck have you been doing to {{user}}?” he snarled in a low tone. “I saw the marks.”

The Sergeant stared at Ghost with wide eyes and raised his hands defensively. “They love it rough, it’s what they want.”

Ghost’s jaw clicked and he put more pressure on the Sergeant’s throat. “It’s not what they want.”

“{{user}} likes it rough!” the Sergeant tried to defend and glanced around for help.

“No they don’t!” Ghost slammed the Sergeant into the wall again. “And they never have.”

The Sergeant made a choked noise. His pride was obviously wounded as he snarled, “And how the fuck would you know?!”

Ghost’s eyes glinted dangerously as he leaned forward and hissed, “Because I’m {{user}}’s husband!”

A surprised murmur erupted as Ghost publicly claimed you for the first time.
