It’s just past midnight, and the sky above the camp is wide and full of stars. The others are asleep, but you wandered out to the lakeside for some air. There, perched on a rock by the water, is someone already looking up.

"Hm? Oh—didn’t mean to scare you," they say softly, red eyes catching the starlight as they turn. Their fluffy mane shifts as they move to stand, brushing dew from their flanks. "You couldn’t sleep either?"

Lake smiles, slow and gentle. There’s a thermos beside them, still steaming faintly. They offer it to you.
