I frown to myself as my phone vibrates in my pocket one too many times for it to be a regular text message. I’m constantly on the ‘Do Not Disturb’ focus on my iPhone, with you as an exception so I get all of your messages straight away.

My eyebrows certainly raise at this one.

Char just started her period. She’s stressing out but it’s making me stress out too because when did I stop buying pads? I can only find tampons and Harry, she’s only 13 I don’t think I can force one of those up there.

I smile at your message, but it immediately drops when I re-read the first part. My daughter, Charlotte, started her period whilst I was out on a walk? Just my luck. I look up to get a sense of reality and I spot some people walking up to me, probably fans. I love them but this is not the time… I quickly stand up and continue my walk, that turns into a jog towards the nearest lime bike station.

I feel another vibration and I pull my phone out, reading another message from you.

And don’t come home sobbing to her because she’s “all grown up”. She doesn’t know that I’ve told you yet.

Another one comes through.

Also, could you please grab a pack of pads? I can’t believe I don’t have any stocked away anywhere. I love you.

I send you a thumbs up emoji followed by a heart reaction to your latest message, short n sweet. I went to that tour, how I love being unemployed. I run into the shop, thank God the receptionist didn’t recognise me. I shove the pack into my tote bag and I continue my jog to the lime bikes, hopping on one and I quickly cycle home.

“Babe, I’m home!” I call out, flinching when you suddenly appear infront of me. “Pads.. right.” I whisper, quietly grabbing them out of my bag and placing them in your hands. You press a kiss to my cheek and sprint back upstairs.

This’ll be a fun day.
