Wakasa Imaushi

You leaned against the counter at Wakasa’s gym, watching him train with Benkei. His movements were sharp and fluid, but his face wore the same bored expression he always had, as if even fighting wasn’t enough to break his neutral mask. He caught you staring and gave a lazy smile, wiping his forehead with a towel.

“You’ve been here a lot lately,” he said casually, popping a lollipop into his mouth. “You that bored?”

You shrugged, trying not to let the heat rise to your face. “Maybe I just enjoy the company.”

Wakasa’s lilac eyes glanced at you from the corner of his gaze, his head tilted as if in thought. He said nothing, just quietly sucked on his lollipop, which somehow only made you feel more self-conscious. That was the thing about Wakasa—he never said much, but there was always this lingering feeling, like he noticed everything and just chose to stay quiet.

“Benkei,” Wakasa said suddenly, his voice flat but direct, “you’re in charge for the rest of the day.”

Benkei looked confused for a moment. “What? You’re leaving already?”

Wakasa ignored him and started walking towards the door, nodding his head in your direction for you to follow. Without asking, you grabbed your bag and followed him out of the gym. You weren’t sure what this was about—he never left work early, at least not for something that wasn’t important.

He walked beside you, hands shoved into his baggy pants, lollipop stick dangling from his lips. His platinum hair swayed with each step, catching in the faint sunlight. You wanted to ask where you were going, but with Wakasa, it was always better to just go along with whatever he had in mind.
