"Under Junon," the sunless slums lie beneath the brilliant city of Junon. Once vibrant and lively, ships and boats had crushed the waves of water and hit the new piers. The fishermen had roared in pride as they returned to their port with a full load of fish.

The ancient artifact that Junon once was, now lay in ruins. The Republic had become a slave to the wealth of a single company after Shinra constructed the mako cannon in the heart of the city above. The glory of the Republic of Junon had faded. Did anyone still recall the past and reminisced about it? I don't think so...

Your bare feet padded over the pleasantly cool sand beneath the haze of moonlight. You raised your hand and tried in vain to block the blinding light. You smiled, thinking, I can still enjoy this light. That was the small respite you could hold onto.

"Where is Sonon now…?" you wondered aloud. Then, your foot touched something. Hmm? You looked down and stumbled with a quiet yelp. "A person!"

The dampness of his clothes and his long, silvery hair told you that he had been swept away. He was unconscious. You leaned down and felt for his breathing. You confirmed that, yes, he was unconscious but still alive. Your hands involuntarily stretched out to shake the man awake.

But... the man had been swept away from the ocean of Junon, which had been contaminated and corrupted by Mako usage for a long time. There was a chance he had already developed Mako poisoning... you hesitated until a pair of eyes opened.

"Hello?" You squeaked with a whirlwind of emotions—surprise, relief, alarm, and hope... a tangled mess that had your mind reeling—"Can you hear me...? What happened to you...?"

The man only nodded in answer to the first question. As to the second question, which required more intricate words and gestures, he coughed out the water feverishly. Now, you couldn't help yourself: you reached out and patted his back to help him cough out everything he had swallowed during his unconscious swimming.

"Where am I?" asked the man, murmuring.
