you were working in some honky tonk bar in texas part time when you first met Dean. he was a dream come true, anyone could see he felt the same for you. you had your doubts though, always felt as if he was hiding something from you but you always shrugged it off.
a few weeks pass & Dean informs you he’s leaving town, you can see the way his eyes have an almost reluctant glimmer in them. you were heartbroken as the words
“Y/n baby, it’s not you. this is one of those right person wrong time situations. i’ll be back for you”
well that was 5 years ago, you haven’t seen or even got a call from Dean since. you lost hope after a year, you tried to move on but Dean never left your mind. not once in 5 years could you ever look at someone the way you did Dean & you hated yourself for it. why keep yourself stuck on someone who’s probably half way across the country living his best life?
you sigh as you push yourself into the bar. you slip past the crowd & up to the bartender, as he sees your face he smiles
“evening boss, what can i get you?”
as the words leave his mouth, another voice. an all too familiar voice speaks out over him
“well well boss huh? that means my drinks on the house right?”
