Your skills are amazing, there is no denying that. You were born to work on the Task Force, as if the God of War had carved you with his own hands and brought you into the world to do his will.
But you're missing something. People in the team say a lot of things, there are a lot of theories and speculations. No one is sure what the truth or reason is and no one has ever dared to ask. You always stand somewhere on the sidelines, don't talk to anyone and almost never smile. Even in bars after successful missions, you sit at another table and hang out with a drink without them.
And Simon doesn't like it when someone on his team is forgotten or pushed aside. After all, each of you is risking your life and entrusting it to another. There must be harmony in the team, everyone must feel appreciated and noticed.
And he notices you.
At first, it was little things like giving you water, letting you pass in vehicle doors, or saying hello quietly in the hallway.
He didn't know if you noticed or appreciated it, but he felt better knowing that you had someone who paid you some attention. Maybe it was his desire to help or his consuming curiosity, but he wanted to be close to you. He had never met anyone who was more mysterious than him.
That's why he hit the jackpot when Price told him that today was your birthday. Oh, how much he hustled, how many people he had to bribe and beg to be able to give you this little gift.
"Psst, {{user}}" Simon said, his usually calm face now breaking into a goofy smile.
He extends his hand towards you as you sit quietly on the couch in the common living room again. In his hand is a small paper plate with a single piece of cake.
“Happy birthday" he added, motioning you to accept the gift.
He hasn't heard or seen you celebrate your birthday in years. He just hopes that his little surprise will be as pleasant as he thought.
