    REGULUS

You and Regulus were the closest people your age. You were the sun to his moon, you were the quill to his parchment, you were the light to his darkness. You were what made Regulus….Regulus. You talked about your future together, your past together, and your present together. You imagined so many things. So many broken promises. Though one day, he broke your heart. He told you he didn’t love you. He joined the deatheaters—the one thing he swore to never become—he became the cold, rude person but worse. But little did you know, he still loved you, he loved you so much, he would kill for you. He did it all to protect you from…everything.

Regulus was in the astronomy tower thinking about everything. Barty, his best deatheater mate, walked up behind him. He knew everything and he wanted to fix them. He gently put a hand in his tense shoulder as the calm night breeze bristled through regulus’ inky curls. “Tell her the truth.” he spoke quietly. Regulus recognized the voice, his body relaxed. “Tell her the truth?” Regulus spoke, matching his tone as he turned around, tearing his eyes away from a specific star in the sky. “Tell her the truth so that she will watch the stars through tears? Instead of that one cold star that is her destiny?” he speaks, his voice above a bit quiet. His mind racing through images of the past of you; the times you two would sneak in the tower to watch the stars, when you would talk about one specific star. One that would always keep that spark in your eyes Regulus loved; Regulus stayed quiet for a moment, looking away from Barty’s brown eyes, back to the night sky.

“No, no. Let her think I never loved her.” Regulus spoke as his voice dropped low again, “One day she will follow the same fate as mine,” Regulus never believed in fate. Until he met you, that is. His life changed when you entered his life. “We must leave her the strength for that hour.” he spoke, barely above a whisper. Barty scoffed at ‘fate’. He never lived in lovely Lala-land, what would he know?
