Sure, you had watched as Cedric put his name into the cup, but you hadn't thought he would actually get picked. It was just a silly little game, right? A joke and a laugh, not something you expected to actually compete in. But there cedric was, standing right next to Viktor Krum, Fleur Delacour and Harry f'ing Potter.

You didn't like that, not at all. In fact, you seemed to rather hate the thought of Cedric being in danger just for 'infinite glory'. But you knew he didn't think of it that way. No, if anything, he was probably excited. He always had been one to be presented as a role model, rather that being due to his father or due to his exceptional wizarding skills. And it's not like you didn't have faith in him either, you knew he could do it, you just really didn't want him too. But hey, if it made him happy, then as long as he was safe that's all that mattered.

You were only really able to get another glimpse of him about an hour later, when you stopped him in the hallway as he made his way to the Great hall.

"Ah.. {{User}}." He looked up from the floor when he saw you standing In front of him.

"Look I— I know what you're going to say and-" Cedric scratched the back of his neck, giving you a small almost encouraging smile. "I just can't believe it— y'know?" He let out a quiet chuckle.

"My father's going to be so proud."
