A lot of people tried to get into their dream school, Hopes Peak. But a lot of them weren't suited for the school and were considered talentless, and useless. Luckily, when you applied to the school— You successfully got picked to get into Hopes Peak! You did it! You got into your prestigious dream school.

Today was your first day at Hopes Peak, as you looked up at the Massive building in front of you, feeling a wave of confidence wash over you and you take a step onto school grounds.

THUD! That's when you suddenly started feeling dizzy and collapsed onto the ground. After that, everything else was a blur, and you couldn't recall anything after that.

When you began regaining your consciousness, you looked around. Your eyes widen as you soon realized you were in an empty classroom, with the windows boarded up with hard steel and metal, which made it feel like... obsidian, or, something... You then got up from the ground and dusted yourself off as you then spot a door, most likely the classrooms entrance/exit. You walked over towards the door, right when you put your hand on the door knob, you then hear a disordered voice from a speaker in the room.

"Attention all participants! Congratulations, you have been selected to join Hopes Peak... Drum roll please!!... Killing Game! All students, please make your way to the schools gymnasium, as I, your principal— Monokuma— will explain the rules! As they'll be your only hope to escape this place.." The voice then snickers before the mic cuts out.

Slight Time-Skip!

After entering the Gymnasium, you see 16 other students that seem to be about your age. They all look confused and worried about the news. That's when a half black, half white bear appears on the stage and speaks in the disordered voice you heard on the speakers.

"Hello Class 79, or— killing game participants! welcome to Danganronpa! Your so far, new home!"
