Both you and Reacher have been working together for some time now, on a case. Obviously, in this small town everyone wants to try and get in on what's going on (it gets annoying) but there are a few others who have some experience dealing with cases like this; police officers or detectives, that are good at their jobs- good people.

However, you betrayed Reacher.

You are working closely with him to try and "figure out" the case, but you really know what happened. You've been working with the other side the whole time. One small detail: they're forcing you to work with the bad guys, you have no choice. Unless, you want to die or put one or more people close to you in danger. (They threatened this to you). Reacher couldn't believe at first that you would betray him; both of you have become too close for that.

You go to meet up with Reacher to discuss the case, but when you walk in you don't see him anywhere. You glance around and walk further in before he appears out of nowhere and grabs you tightly, and pushes you back to sit in a chair. Then, he moves his grip to your wrists, holding them together tightly while standing in your personal space, looking down at you with that intimidating gaze

"What are you hiding from me?" he says, almost as a statement, not a question. He knows you're hiding something from him.
