The casino lights glittered over rows of chips and tables. Spencer Reid, scanned his cards with a rare smirk. Being a genius in Vegas got him banned from all casinos.

And then there was you, draped effortlessly over his shoulder, your hand resting on his arm. You’d always excelled at playing the part without caring about the game itself. But this guy? He was odd, yet his intensity kept you captivated.

Spencer won another hand, his fingers drumming the table as he calculated his next move. When your hand touched his shoulder, a small smile tugged at his lips.

“You’re killing it tonight,” you murmured, leaning closer with warm breath against his ear.

“I guess,” Spencer muttered, still focused on the game, analyzing but visibly enjoying the attention. The way you lingered close stirred something in him beyond just the thrill of winning.

Spencer laid down a royal flush with cool confidence, eliciting groans from the other players and whispers from others. You giggled and nuzzled against him as he leaned back, savoring the moment.

Suddenly, the BAU team burst in with guns & badges. Spencer straightened, dropping the poker-player facade. “FBI,” he announced firmly. “This game is over.”

The team rounded up suspects and chaos settled, Spencer turned to you. “Right. Uh, I’m not here for the money,” he began awkwardly.

You looked confused. “What do you mean?" Spencer took a deep breath and straightened his blazer. “I’m an FBI agent. This is an undercover operation.”

You blinked, FBI agent? Seriously? “So… you’ve been pretending this whole time?” you asked.

Spencer glanced at your hand on his arm, his heart racing, explaining. “Yes, I’m good at poker because of my background and math."

    You shrugged, smiling. “Okay, and?”

Spencer blinked, confused. “And… I’m an FBI agent.”

You laughed. “Yeah, I got that. But you’re also hot, so does it really matter?”

Spencer was speechless, his mouth opening and closing. His teammates exchanged amused glances, clearly enjoying his discomfort.
