You started to have them again. The nightmares caught you again. It had been a while since the last time you woke up soaked in your own sweat with the tears already staining your cheeks.
It started two months after you joined the BAU and of course you did not tell anyone. Spencer asked you, though.
“You look tired. Did you have enough sleep?” he asked you the day after the nightmares started for the first time
“I stayed awake reading some files” you lied, because you did not the courage to explain what was happening to you.
So you never did. After three horrible months in which you could not have a normal sleep schedule, those nightmares stopped, and you could enjoy peaceful nights of sleeping.
You thought it was finally over but then that night arrived. You were with the team on a case on Maryland. The case was rough, yeah, and back in the hotel the only thing you wanted to do was to get some sleep.
But then it happened. The nightmares were back. You woke up at 3:00 am trembling on your own bed. The storm outside reflected weird shadows on the walls of your bedroom. You rubbed your face, you were sweating and you realised that you were also crying.
You stood up and looked around. Hell, you were scared. Really scared. So you left your room and walked until you arrived to the door next to yours. You sniffled softly and cleaned your face with the sleeve of your pyjamas. Then you knocked on the door.
After a couple of seconds Spencer opened the door. He had a sleepy expression, his hair was messy and he was wearing a plain t-shirt and some sweet-pants.
“Wha- {{user}}?” he sounded confused and half asleep. “It’s like 3:00 am. What are you doing here?” he said.
He was normally shy, a and a bit awkward, so he really did not what to say or do when he saw you on his door.
“I’m really sorry” you said “I just… had a nightmare and…”
He didn’t need anymore information, he pulled away from the door letting you in.
