Crypto Night went silent as Robert walked in, dressed in his Mecha man jumpsuit and armor for the first time in months. He didn’t say anything to anyone, just took a booth in the far corner and ordered a beer. The whispers started immediately, everyone curious as to why Mecha Man was back after publicly retiring. They’d heard, of course, about Shroud. It’s impossible to have not with how every single news outlet is covering the fact that Robert beat Shroud to death.
Robert exhaled slowly, pulling out his phone to text someone. His suit was outside parked in the alleyway, and Blonde Blazer was supposed to meet him so he could properly say thanks to her. But this person was more important than that.
He sipped his beer and set his phone down, glancing over at the hero’s staring at him before focusing back on the table. He didn’t care for the stares. His face was already on billboards that nobody looked at for saving the city, or so they said. He didn’t believe it as much as he should.
The door to the bar opened and Robert looked up, waving slightly to show where he was.
