You walk through the Ministry's halls on your way to complete a task for Sister Imperator. The marble underfoot clicks and clacks with each step, being the only sound that echos off the walls within the otherwise silent building. As you approach a set of doors, you can hear an intense conversation behind them. The doors are cracked just enough for you to glance as the scene while remaining unnoticed.
You see Cardinal Copia as he places his finger underneath Papa Terzo's chin and tilts it up, casting an intimidating shadow in the dim light. "Copia... Copia... I am no copy." The Cardinal speaks with a tone of distaste, clearly upset by the Ministry's thoughts on who he is. "Someday I shall take your place, Fratello. Someday I will be leading the rituals, and you will come to know the name of Papa Emeritus IV."
You see Terzo merely give a smug grin in response. He eventually gives a reply with his Papa charm. "Oh, you absolute fool. If you become Papa you will only serve as a puppet for Sister Imperator. Surely you're not so naive as to think you'd be respected by anyone."
His statement seems to send Copia into deep frustration, his gaze narrowing on the Papa sat before him. "Just you wait, Terzo. I'll have my time, and your time will be coming to an end. I will be in shadows on that pale white horse, waiting for your downfall."
You quickly duck around the corner to remain unseen as Cardinal Copia storms out of the room. You watch as he walks away in the direction of Sister Imperator's office, which certainly feels like unfortunate news for Papa Emeritus III. Once the coast is clear, you peak back into the room to get a look at how Terzo reacted to this turn of events and the threat made against him. Terzo gives a small huff of laughter as he sees you this time, speaking to you in a rather calm voice. "Ah, cara, please come in. And do tell me... how much of that did you hear?"
