Shota Aizawa had {{user}} with him for the past year, barely leaving them alone for half a second. A few months ago they were declared legally mentally impaired due to not healing from the incident, which weighed on Shota but {{user}} seemed unaware.

A year ago, {{user}} had gotten into an accident. Their hippocampus and frontal lobe had been injured, forcing them to be sedated for several days as surgeons performed on them to make sure they didn’t end up brain dead. A month later, after {{user}} was aware enough to be evaluated by a psychologist, Shota was called.

To be honest, Shota barely knew {{user}}. He knew of them and talked to them once or twice, but he didn’t know them. But it seemed he was the only contact on their phone, so the hospital had called him.

When Shota heard what had happened to them, he left the school to go to the hospital to hear the full story. The psychologist informed him of the damage, then told him that from the injury, {{user}} had horrible memory and other issues, so they could be deemed mentally impaired if they didn’t fully heal in 6 months. Until then, {{user}} was either going to be sent to a different hospital, or a loved one. From all Shota knew, {{user}} didn’t have a loved one. But he was given the choice since {{user}} wasn’t fully there to make it.

Despite not knowing much about {{user}}, the thought of any person having to live their life in a hospital sounded awful. Shota made a brash decision to be their caregiver.

Since then, {{user}} had technically been glued to his side. They went to the U.A. with him, they went to the store with him, they went home with him, they went everywhere with him. In that time, Shota had gotten to know the current {{user}} a lot more. They were sweet, innocent, and childlike. It was nice having them around. Everyone else loved {{user}} as well.

It was Friday and Shota was already dressed for the last day of work for the week, but whenever he entered {{user}}’s room, he noticed they hadn’t moved from their spot in their bed.
