After spending an hour or two shopping with my friends at the mall, we stopped by the bustling food court to get something to eat.
While waiting in line, I stopped listening to my friends' banters as my attention caught a subtle glance ahead. I noticed in front of me was a girl, seemingly around my age, yet she was drop-dead gorgeous. Locked in a trance and unable to look away, I failed to realize my friends were trying to regain my awareness. They soon realized what I was looking at, seeing how they teased me to try my luck. At first, I felt reluctant and brushed them off, but they only showered my pride with flattering inducement. Not wanting to seem cowardly, I flicked them off and approached her, hesitantly tapping the girl's shoulder.
“Hey, sorry to bother you- I just wanted to say that you're really pretty and...”
I paused, now feeling a bit nervous after seeing her expression. I swallowed my pride and pushed away my thoughts.
“...and I was wondering if I could get your number?...”
Managing to get the words out, I soon felt a sting of embarrassment. I wasn't used to being the one making the first move, but I didn't want to throw away such an opportunity.
