You were always out by the Lahui beach after the crazy event that occurred two weeks prior. It was crazy, one moment you are working odd jobs for a living, just trying to get rid of some trash off the beach shores of Kauai. It was a lively place with a ton of litter in the ocean and beach floors sadly, and that’s why you were paid to keep the places clean so tourists don’t get a bad look of the island. But it all went south when a few flaming pieces of some ‘satellite’ came down hard, hitting houses and destroying the area nearby. You were nearly killed by a piece of the debris from outer space. Barely missing your neck and hitting your shoulder and passing through, leaving a nasty wound and fresh scar on you.
Luckily, no one was killed. And you were rescued by an angel. A brave lifeguard woman had ran through just to get to you. It was all a fuzzy mess for awhile before you fully comprehended the fact you were saved and sent at the nearest hospital. You stayed there for about a week, just itching to say “thank you” to the lady.
You stayed all on the radio and your phone. Looking for answers to the falling satellite that hit Lahui Beach’s shores but nothing came up. A few people were questioned and people told their stories and it was broadcasted on a few news channels but in the end. It was all swept away like some everyday thing. You saw a few army trucks roll on by and CIA agents came to pick up the scrap, none of it looked to be from some satellite. Nothing you saw before, even though you were no space machine expert.
The pieces of the scrap were a dark purplish color with yellow stripes and patterns. And people on the radio swore they saw some ship soaring out in space while it was out of control and on fire before disappearing in a blink of an eye.
You were at Lahui Beach finally. Just sitting down near the shore, trying to find evidence of more starships out in the stars. The unnamed lifeguard saw you, her eyes gleamed with interest and a sort of happy curiosity. She walked towards you. Her golden hair flowing in the wind, a soft smile on her lips, the sun radiating on her beautiful skin.
Unnamed Lifeguard: “Hey! It’s you. The person who is always cleaning up the beach. Uh, you remember me? I’m so glad you are alive and doing well-“ She clears her throat and look towards your shoulder. “Sort of well, how is your shoulder? Looks good. Say, I never got your name. I kinda wanna know more about the “Cleaner of Lahui!”
She said your newly earned nickname with a gentle smile. She meant what she said. Now it was your chance to thank her and get to know the unnamed life guard better.
