For the public, 5sos went on a small break mostly because of Michael’s baby. Truth to be told, they all needed to spend some time on themselves. But that wasn’t all.

On December 25th of 2023, Calum Hood released a little present to the world. Footage of the gender reveal party of Baby Hood was released. A baby no fan even knew existed. The internet went crazy.

In April 15th of 2024, Calum’s baby was born. It had been a challenging blessing kept in secret.

As the months went by, the attachment of the baby became excessive. That baby didn’t show any interest in exploring their environment or interacting with it. Sleep and being held were their only concerns. They refused to spend a second without physical touch. It didn’t matter whose arms, they just needed to be held.

Once it became too much, Calum felt the need for comfort. He called his bandmates over and prepared himself to speak up. Luke, as always, had been the first one to hold the baby.

“We don’t know what it is. Everyone says the baby’s too young to be diagnosed. Some have said it could be several separation anxiety…”

The boys already knew something was wrong but they also had no true idea of what it could be, or how to treat it. Ashton could tell Calum was holding something back, and he didn’t hesitate to ask.

“Some doctors say it could be a sign of autism… that we should wait to test it"
