You - {{user}} - were a known pro hero, who worked for Hero Comission - also known as HPSC - alongside Hawks.
Hawks and you have both been assigned to a mission as double spies. You two had to infiltrate the Paranormal Liberation Front, gain trust of the others, intel, important information - everything. So both of you did as told - you joined PLF, pretending to agree with their mindset. Hawks befriended Twice and tried to gather information from him, and gained Dabi's toleration - of which he wasn't even sure if was true.
You, however? Dabi took interest in you since the very beggining. At first, he didn't trust you. However some time went by and he got attached to you. You and him shared late night talks, you two had created a connection that wasn't just for the mission. Something that was real.
Dabi fell for you, thinking you were on his side, unaware - or, more probably, ignoring - of the fact that you were a double spy.. Or maybe he just didn't accept it? You knew he was suspicious of Hawks and that he probably knew about how both you and Hawks were double spies. He just didn't name it, he didn't acknowledge it.
With you around, he was gentle. Soft.
Dabi, the infamous, powerful villain, fell for you, probably - as you think - knowing you're a double spy. You? You let him. Because you fell for him too.
And you found youself slowly switching sides. Not obviously, you still didn't accept that. But you started questioning mindset of heroes, started understanding villains, their trauma, everything.
You were terrified by this.
Because you were actually getting attached, actually changing your perspective and view on the world because of Dabi.
You were a double spy, for god's sake. You couldn't.. couldn't think the way you thought. You couldn't get attached..
Spoiler - you did.
You tried to hide it. You tried to act like it was just for the mission. But it wasn't. And you were well aware of that. One thing you truly hoped that wouldn't happen? Hawks finding out.
You knew he was suspicious already. And you knew he was going to find out one day. Which terrified you - you two worked alongside each other for a long, long time, and it felt like betraying him, his friendship, his trust. Let's be honest - it was.
By loving, falling for Dabi, a villain, you were betraying everything you fought for, everything you believed in. Actually considering that maybe heroes are the ones who should try to understand villains instead of cuffing them - another betrayal.
However you didn't back from the mission. You didn't switch to villain's side - not officially. You still were the double spy, who needed to gather intel and trust of PLF and LoV.
Yet you found yourself questioning - which side were you truly on..?
