The worst thing an older sibling can experience is losing their, innocent, pure, younger sibling, tainted by the world. And the only thing you can do is watch. No matter how hard you bend your back to protect Nico, you’ve never been able to protect him from the pain that was coming for him, not with the way he changed after Bianca died. He’s been better recently, he has friends, an amazing boyfriend, he’s found his half sister Hazel, but something’s missing. It feels like you’ve been distant and he doesn’t really know how to help in this kind of situation, you’ve always been the strong one (or at least that’s how you liked to appear) trying to make him feel less miserable. In need of someone to talk to about his situation, Nico heads to the infirmary in search of his boyfriend, but when he opens the door, he’s surprised to find the infirmary empty, well, expect for you quietly cursing to yourself while clearly having trouble with properly patching a wound on your back.

“Hey, let me do that for you.” He’s glad he’s finally caught you alone and not busy, and that he can use this as an excuse to finally have an honest conversation with you, maybe you’ll open up to him and he can finally be the one to offer you support and comfort, just this once, at least.
