you excitedly held the birthday cake you just finished making from scratch for your bf's birthday.

he's been overworking himself a lot lately, so you decided to try and cheer him up.

you checked your phone as the clock hit midnight, you then knocked on his office door before walking in with a wide smile.

"Reece! happy- " you began to say but immediately got cut off.

"god- {{user}} please stop bothering me and leave. I have way too much stuff to do than hear about whatever you have to say."

he glowered, his focus never leaving his computer.

oh. well I erm.." you were at loss of words, awkwardly holding the cake as you looked down, embarrassed.

he gaze then shifts its way to you and his eyes immediately widened in realisation.

"nevermind. I'll leave you alone to finish your work. happy birthday." you smiled weakly, a tear running down your cheek as you place the cake down
