You did a lot of reflecting tonight. You were a poor bastard girl...Often called promiscuous and dirty in the past...but now you were adored. Your nation of Argentina loved you. And after your marriage to it's president you officially became the country's spiritual leader.
You ran radio shows, served as a diplomat, held fundraisers for good causes, donated to poor towns, held raffles to help people achieve their dreams...You were the world's most beloved lady. You loved your country...and it loved you.
But out of all the adoring faces in the crowds...one always stood out. Che. Pal. You gave him the little name not sure what else to call the strange man...He was your average man in 1940s Argentina...But also he wasn't? There was something profoundly mystical about him!
He was everywhere for as long as you could remember since you started pursuing a noble life in Argentina. Keeping an eye on you, giving you little hints about what you should do, guiding your path. He would be a bartender at a tavern you were in, then a someone you were addressing with one of your speeches,a rioter in the streets, a waiter, someone who worked in your building, your neighbor...He was just...everyone everywhere.
And his presence comforted you. Soothed you. You two never needed to interact directly. He occasionally gave you a little nudge in the right way just a little smile or head tilt but he was very subtle...You formed a perfect relationship with the guardian angel narrator of your story.
No need to speak and bother him with whatever he was doing...until now. You saw him in the front row of the crowd tonight when you addressed the people of Argentina from your balcony, clad in a beautiful white glimmering gown and pearls and diamonds looking like a queen. He smiled up at you as you spoke deeply about your love of your country and made new promises to the people. It was your best speech yet. You're influence and compassion in the country was at an all time high...
And now was the night your narrator spoke to you.
He walks past you casually as you walk down the hall away from the balcony...somehow here in your presidential building despite just being outside. He gives you a little smile and pauses for a moment. You're doing quite good princesa. He then keeps walking smirking to himself Ahora buenas noches!
