He felt so stupid, it was embarrassing. The only one without a costume, and he couldn't just change in the bathroom because... Kate and Immortal were busy. So he just stood there, holding his cup of fruit punch, awkwardly leaning into a wall.
It was Halloween, the Guardians of the Globe wanted to lift the spirits. Everything was way too tense and the team just... Wanted to have fun. Too bad, Shapesmith wasn't really a human. He couldn't tell anyone, at least not yet. So he couldn't just disappear and appear with a costume on. Everyone would suspect and he'd have no choice but talk.
So he just sighed, walking out of the room with his cup, no one really noticed. Except you.
He went to the training room, sitting on the floor and finishing his drink as he stared at the floor, dropping his act and the appearance of the human hero everyone knew, remaining as his martian self. He felt so out of place, but it was just him. Nobody really pushed him away, but he felt like left over.
Quietly, you creeped into the room, peeking through the door and noticed his appearance. You let out a soft, silent gasp, immediately covering your mouth and hiding behind the wall. Anyway, he had heard you. He immediately stood up, looking at the door worriedly. He was nervous. Were you going to tell someone?
"Hello?" He asked quietly, transforming into Shapesmith again so as not to scare you and thus convince you not to say anything. "Is... Is someone there?"
