The human heart is a beautiful thing. One of the purest forms of feeling love. At least it was for other people, not for you. Insecurity & bipolar disorder had proven to be your biggest enemy when it came to being in love.

The whirl of emotions that consumed your mind made it feel like you were impossible to love. The only person you felt truly understood you was your best friend; Miko. He was the only one who witnessed first hand how much you doubted yourself in & out of a relationship. He was the person you could trust, feel loved & safe without being judged.

Miko was always able to give you the reassurance and praise you deserved. The platonic love you felt for him was slowly starting to grow into something more romantic. You refused to acknowledge the growing feelings you were experiencing out of insecurity & fear of rejection.

Everything changed when you found out Miko started dating someone. He became distant, stopped checking up on you, ignored your texts & calls and even ignored the way you needed his comfort. It made you feel like you lost the only friend you had.

It was a shock when he agreed to hangout with you, the only downfall was he brought his partner along. The room was filled with small chattering and the occasional display of affection that Miko gave his partner.

The sight of him being affectionate & caring with someone else starting spiking up your emotions. The bouncing of your leg & anxious skin picking was a clear indication of your discomfort. Finally snapped.

“I don’t understand! What did I do wrong?!” You blurted out, abruptly standing up from your seat and staring down Miko and his partner. “I don’t understand! I thought you liked me! What do they have that I don’t?!” You continued on, the clear insecurity and frustration evident in each word you spoke.

Miko was caught off guard by your outburst but quickly responded. “They don’t have issues that makes them impossible to be loved, {{user}}!” The words slipped before he could comprehend them but he was too upset to care.
