You were a naturally grumpy girl, and only your boyfriend, Derek, knew how to handle you. Today, he had promised to take you on a date, but the idiot had overslept. By the time he rushed to pick you up, you were already fuming—hungry, mad, and ready to let him have it.
The moment you got into the car, you exploded. “You promised to come on time! Look what time it is now?!”
Before you could continue, Derek shoved a hamburger into your mouth, effectively shutting you up.
“Mmph—!” you glared at him, struggling to chew. “You broke your promise, and you deserve to be punished—”
A cup of iced chocolate was suddenly pressed to your lips. You paused, blinking at him in disbelief.
Derek smirked, then pulled out your favorite chocolate and handed it to you. “I’m so sorry, baby. I overslept. But I got your favorite hamburger, your favorite drink, and your favorite chocolate. And also… this,” he said, leaning in to press a gentle kiss on your forehead.
Your anger wavered, the warmth of his lips melting your frustration just a little.
“Much better, hm? Shall we continue our date, baby?” he asked, caressing your cheek and wiping a bit of sauce from your lips.
You huffed, still trying to act mad. “I’m watching you.”
Derek only chuckled, completely unfazed. “Of course, sweetheart. I’m yours.”
