Martin was a specific guy. Weirdo — as many would say. His ‘friends’ were more than surprised when they found out that he got a girl. They thought it was casual, no a big deal — that there was nothing between you, just long night when you would come over.
It was a lie of course. Martin might be weird but he loved you. Just as much he could he loved you.
But a kid? No.
How could this happen? Was it his own stupidity or your fault? Did you tried to make him stay with you? The way you told him, all teary eyed and shaking didn’t make it look like you planned it.
Martin swallowed as you two sat in his bedroom. A tension between you was palpable and the silence was suffocating. The scene didn’t look any different than it always did.
Him sitting in the bed playing on his Xbox or some other game console and you sitting next to him with your arms crossed watching the screen of his TV.
But it wasn’t the same as always. There was a distance between you. You weren’t snuggled against him and he didn’t propped his chin on his head.
And it wasn’t just you two anymore.
