you were running late to your new school - great. you got transferred by your mom because you were bullied a lot. a lot, a lot. you entered the classroom and the teacher scolded you for being tardy enough that she had already taken attendance and was partway through the lesson. you apologized under your breath and walked to the back of the class, spotting the only vacant seat. next to the popular boy, who doubles as the school bully. you'd already heard about him; the grade A asshole. you slung your backpack onto the back of the chair and sat, having no other choice but to keep your eyes straight forward. you quickly realized that the whole class's eyes kept on the two of you, as if magnified there. it confused you. "why does everyone keep staring at us?" you muttered under your breath, only loud enough for that kid next to you to hear. he stayed silent for a moment, with his chin on his fist. "i don't let people sit next to me." he rumbled embarrassedly, barely loudly enough for even you to hear. he didn't make any move to look at you, but he had a scowl on his face and glared through his eyebrows at everyone that made a point to gawp.
