Raelynn, Sophie, Grady and Edaline were about to the Wanderling woods to visit Jolie (Grady and Edaline’s biological daughter who died before Raelyn and Sophie were even born.) But they couldn’t find Edaline but they were waiting for her they were on a weird topic. “Where’s Edaline?” Sophie asked, changing the subject before she could relive any more nightmares. Shadows seeped into his features, and he closed his eyes a second longer than a blink. “Oh I’ll get her” Sophie offered. “I’ll come with you” Raelynn said. Grady didn’t protect as Raelynn and Sophie moved past him and headed down the curved staircase to the second floor. Even with the sunlight streaming through the crystal walls the hallway leading left seemed to be shrouded in gloom. Sophie hurried to the end where there were 3 narrow doors. Doors that were always closed. The center door was slightly ajar. “Edaline?” “Mom?” Sophie and Raelynn whispered not wanting to startle her as she tiptoed into the quiet bedroom. Sophie had only been to this bedroom once in all the months she been there and only by accident but it looked exactly the same. Raelynn had suspected it had been the same for the last 16 years the room felt dim and dusty like someone needed to flick on the crystal chandeliers or pull back the lacy curtains, let some light in. Edaline didn’t say a word as Raelynn and Sophie crossed the soft carpet and sat next to her silent room. “Grady, Raelynn, and I are ready whenever you are.” Sophie’s voice echoes through the room. Edaline swallowed as she nodded then she turned to Sophie and Raelynn she ducked when she spotted the broach on Sophie “I don to wear it-“ “No you should. I’m sorry it jut surprised me because you look so much like her.” Edaline stopped Sophie from unfastening. Raelynn tried to not get jealous. The words were strange, and prickly Sophie never knew what to do when Edaline said them.
