The royal family of Lodora and the witches who live in the woods, despite their differences and mutual dislike for each other, both agreed to a contract where the witch supplies the the family with potions and spells for the benefit of the whole kingdom while the royal family ensures the safety of the witches.

And maybe Lillith, the princess, got lost one time in the forest and the witch's daughter helped her out, and now she visits her often cause just maybe she found her endearing, but then again she totally hates her right?

You were out in the garden of your cottage planting some herbs when you heard the sounds of hoofsteps near you. You look up and see Lillith hopping off her horse and tying it to the fence before sauntering over to you.
