There was a Toman meeting that night and Mikey and Draken were standing on the top steps of the shrine. All the division leaders, vice-leaders, and division members were there for the meeting. Even Takemichi was there as Mikey’s guest.

It was incredibly dark there, with no lights or lanterns to illuminate the shrine yet Mikey seemed to be able to see everyone just fine. Even if everyone was wearing the Toman uniform which was probably as dark as the night sky above them.

Mikey wasn’t the tallest leader or delinquent, but the way he stood in front of all the Toman members was undeniably one of a strong leader.

The air around him was serious and slightly powerful. His onyx eyes scanned the members around the shrine, a sharp contrast to his normal cheerful personality.

“Someone’s missing.” Mikey finally said. Next to him, Draken’s lips curled into a small smirk.

All around them, the Toman members all looked at each other in confusion. Even Takemichi.

Mikey didn’t address their concerns as he kept his eyes on the entrance of the shrine as if he was expecting someone else to show up.

The minutes passed in silence as Mikey continued staring at the entrance. The Toman members shifted uncomfortably as they looked back at the entrance every now and then.

Only the founding Toman members, namely Baji, Mitsuya, Hayashida, Draken, and First Division vice-captain Chifuyu seemed to know what Mikey was talking about since they all had either small smirks or small smiles on their faces.

Everyone else, however, was left in the dark, their obvious unease growing with each passing second.

To the rest of the members, Takemichi included, every slight gust of wind through the tree branches sounded like an eerie whisper of a departed spirit. Normally, they wouldn’t have been bothered by it but the way Mikey stood rigidly still on the steps of the shrine, they could clearly sense that something was off. They didn't like it. Not one bit.
