It was a yearly tradition for Lando and Oscar to make a wish on a floating candle.

The candles were usually made out of a thin paper and were designed to float when cast.

The two boys had been best friends ever since Oscar joined McLaren in mid-2022. They had met after Oscar had sorted the issues with Alpine and immediately became friends… or was it more? Lando could never tell.

They always arranged to meet up exactly on the 26th of July in Monaco. They always met on the harbour to cast out their floating candles and then to go home to Lando’s apartment and spend the night there.

This warm summer’s evening, Lando and Oscar were already at the harbour. Oscar watched as Lando closed his eyes and cast his candle up into the sky, his lips parting as he silently made his wish.
