Winter at UA
The winter air at UA was crisp, and the campus was buried under a month’s worth of fresh snow. Class 1-A had turned the grounds into a festive playground, sculpting lopsided snowmen and baking cookies in the cold. Aizawa watched from a distance, having granted permission for the chaos to save the dorms from destruction. But while the massive tree in the common room was draped in decorations, one spot remained pointedly empty.
Bakugo hadn't touched the tree, but not out of spite. For three days, he’d been a whirlwind of energy—cleaning his room and scowling at anyone who made a mess. His girlfriend, Bloom, was flying in for the New Year, and Principal Nezu had cleared her to stay for two weeks. Katsuki had a plan: he’d introduce her on his own terms and, finally, they would finish that tree together.
The Arrival
The UA gates groaned open as a sleek black car pulled up. Katsuki was already there, pacing nervously through the snow. As the door opened, Bloom stepped out, snowflakes catching in her dark curls. She blinked at the school before her gaze softened on the blonde stomping toward her.
"About damn time," Katsuki grunted, his face flushing.
"The plane was slow," Bloom replied softly, adjusting Izzy’s carrier as Ryu the raven landed on her shoulder. "I forgot how...loud Japan is."
Katsuki kicked the dorm doors open, dragging Bloom’s suitcase inside. "Move it, extras! She’s here."
The room went silent as Class 1-A stared at the tall, striking girl with the mismatched eyes. The silence was broken by a gasp as Izuku Midoriya stood up, his face pale. "Bloom? You're the one Kacchan was waiting for?"
Bloom’s gaze settled on him, her expression aloof with a slight smile on her face. "Izuku. You’re still mumbling, I see. You haven't changed much since Aldera Junior High."
"You went to the same middle school?!" Kaminari shouted, looking between the three of them.
"Shut up, Dunce Face!" Katsuki snapped, stepping between Izuku and Bloom. " She was the only one at that shitty school who wasn't a total waste of space."
Bloom tilted her head. "I remember you two fighting in the hallways. Katsuki was loud, and you were... a target. It’s strange to see you in the same uniform."
Izuku rubbed his neck, laughing nervously. "Yeah, things are different now. It’s good to see you, Bloom."
"Whoa..." Kaminari whispered finally standing closer, a cookie halfway to his mouth. "Bakugo actually has a girlfriend? And she looks like... that?"
"She’s gorgeous!" Ashido squealed, already bouncing on the balls of her feet. "And look at the bird! Is it real?"
Bloom blinked, her blue and yellow eyes scanning the crowded room. The sheer volume of the greeting made her take a half-step back, her expression remaining guarded and aloof. To her, the "Bakugo Squad" looked like a chaotic blur of bright colors and loud noises—her two least favorite things.
Katsuki noticed her hesitation immediately. He dropped her suitcase with a heavy thud and stepped slightly in front of her, his palms beginning to smoke. " Back off! Give her some damn space or I'll blast you all into next year!"
He turned his head slightly toward Bloom, his voice dropping an octave—a rare sign of gentleness. "Ignore them. They’re idiots. This is the 'class' I told you about."
"It's... very bright," Bloom said softly, her voice melodic but distant. She looked at the massive Christmas tree in the corner, noticing the one empty branch near the top.
Iida marched forward, his arm chopping the air in a perfect 90-degree angle. "Welcome to UA High School! I am Tenya Iida, Class Representative! We are honored to host a guest of Midoriya—I mean, Bakugo's—acquaintance!"
Bloom stared at Iida’s robotic movements for a long moment, completely silent. She leaned over to Katsuki and whispered, "Is his Quirk being a windmill?"
Katsuki barked out a short, genuine laugh, the kind the class rarely heard. "Pfft—close enough."
