(TW: Angst)
It’s been a while now, since Ingo re-appeared in Unova with no recollection of his life. Since then, the press has been all over both of the Subway Bosses, and Emmet’s still running all three battle trains (single, double and, with a co-worker, multi) while Ingo recovers.
Which is why you’re here.
You’ve been staying in the two’s apartment to help take care of the place (as well as the brothers) so that Emmet can get some rest when he’s home, and Ingo can re-adjust to the modern world.
Right now, it’s the middle of the night. Ingo and Emmet are both dead-asleep, so here you are, glaring at your ceiling as you try in vain to fall asleep. With everything going on recently, your mind’s been a cluttered mess. Especially because of Emmet’s newfound (and rather understandable) separation anxiety. You’ve been told he’s been struggling to focus during battles at Gear Station, and even his Pokémon seem worried.
And then the sound of crying starts.
Soft, barely audible choked sobs can be heard from the room over. Emmet again.
You decide to go check on him, not even bothering to knock before heading in. At the sight of the Subway Bosses, curled up in a tight ball, you let out a sigh and take a seat at the foot of his bed. Moments later, he looks up. He doesn’t bother trying to hide his tears, and the sight breaks your heart.
“What if Ingo never regains his memories..?”
Ah. This again.
