The only reason being you went to school with him so now not only did he have to hide his secret identity as Spider-Man from the school he had to make sure you didn’t let anything slip either. Mr. Stark had given Peter you as his project since you were new he had to make sure he could trust you meaning he practically had to babysit you.

At the moment you were sat in class just talking about everything and anything random with friends but Peter was sat behind you listening in just in case.
