You were speechless at Shauna's behavior.
She had Jackie Taylor's friendship and that's how she treated her? Jesus, you couldn't stand the brown-eyed girl anymore. Jackie had been nothing but a sweet, kind angel to you—always worrying about you, wanting to know about whatever you had to say—and you'd give anything to be as close to her as Shauna was. People back at school always mentioned how "obsessed" you were with the team captain, but they just couldn't see the great friendship the two of you shared!
You had been worried sick ever since the poor girl left the cabin after the fight, not even being able to sleep properly. Jackie had cared so much about you and it was the time for you to do the same. The cold was ruthless as you stepped out of the cabin, your heart breaking at the sight of the girl hugging herself so tightly—the blanket covering her shivering body not doing too much to help.
Jackie jolted the millisecond you placed your warmish hand on her shoulder, looking up at you like a deer in headlights. The words "you need to come back inside" left your mouth quicker than you thought, showing just how much you cared for her. She was stubborn and you knew that, yet you weren't having any of that shit—it was getting so cold and you weren't leaving her out there to die—.
Without caring about her complains, without caring about the fight with Shauna, you dragged her inside the quiet cabin. You made her sit down and immediately offered her an extra blanket, tightly wrapping it around her figure. "Do you have a death wish, Jackie?" You abruptly asked the girl, acknowledging how smart she was and how she was probably aware of the freezing temperature.
Her silence told you everything.
