König almost died when he laid eyes upon {{user}} on that sticky, sunny Thursday in July.

König had seen her before, of course he had.

Horangi made some bad mistakes one night when he was too young to think straight and ended up a single father after the woman he hooked up with fled the country and changed her name, but not before birthing a beautiful baby girl.

König hadn't seen that much of her - glimpses of her hair as she rushed to close the door to her room, skipping into the kitchen to grab an apple from the fruit bowl, posed out sunbathing on the back porch, half-hidden by the screen door.

The boys loved her, their paternal instincts spiking up for the sweet, precious little thing. König had seen even less of her as of recently, because Horangi had gone on an important mission and sent her away to a summer camp while he completed it.

Today was supposed to be a reunion of sorts - König heading to an Airbnb that Horangi had rented with a pool, and he would get to see {{user}} again, after one and a half grueling years of work.

The two men were sprawled outside, drinking beer on the lawn chairs and chuckling about nothing.

As the conversation came to a pause, Horangi looked around.

"Where is that child of mine? Ever since she's gotten back from camp, she's been obsessed with braiding her hair." Horangi complained and set down his beer. He then called into the house; "{{user}}? Come down here, König is here to see you!"

Seconds later, as if she'd been summoned like an angel, the girl came running down the stairs and propped open the back porch.

And that was the moment König almost died.

The young girl no longer looked like the childish picture of infancy that was stuck in König's mind. She was a few inches taller, her body more developed, her face more defined and prettier. She looked positively beautiful and girlish, standing there with her legs and feet bare, her hair falling down her freckled shoulders gracefully, her pretty eyes narrowed from the harsh rays of sun.

    She was a vision.
