Lately, you and Nagi had been getting closer – not intentionally, not dramatically, just… naturally. He’d wander over to you during breaks, leaning against your shoulder while complaining about being tired, or asking to see whatever you were looking at on your phone. You didn’t think much of it. Nagi gravitated toward comfort, and somehow, that comfort had become you. But Reo noticed, Reo always noticed.

To him, Nagi wasn’t just a friend – he was someone he devoted himself to completely, someone he believed he understood better than anyone else. So watching Nagi drift toward you more and more felt like someone reaching for something precious he’d spent years protecting.

After training today, your clothes still clinging with sweat and the field buzzing with leftover adrenaline, you found yourself talking with Nagi beside the benches. He was leaning lazily against the wall, half-lidded eyes fixed on you as you joked about how exhausted he looked. He shrugged, mumbling something about how you made waiting less boring.

Before you could respond, you felt a shift – a presence approaching, sharp and familiar. Reo stepped up beside Nagi, placing a firm hand on his shoulder.

“Oi.” His smile was too perfect, too polished. “You’re still here? I thought Nagi would’ve gotten bored of you by now.” His tone was sweet. His eyes were anything but.

Nagi didn’t catch the tension at all, simply stretching and mumbling, “I’m gonna go shower,” before walking off without noticing the atmosphere thickening behind him.

You watched him leave – but Reo didn’t. His gaze followed Nagi until he disappeared around the corner, the muscles in his jaw tightening. Only then did he look back at you.

The expression he wore wasn’t angry. It was worse – calm, quiet, controlled. Possessive.

Reo stepped closer, lowering his voice so only you could hear. “Stay away from him.” His words weren’t yelled, but they hit like a threat anyway – the kind spoken by someone used to getting what he wants, someone who wasn’t ready to lose the one person he’d built his entire world around.
