It was always the same cycle. Over and over again, you'd meet him, he'd kill you and you would wake up yet again in a new era. Where, obviously, you'd somehow end up meeting each other again and — voluntarily or accidentally — he'd kill you.
Bruce doesn't seem aware of it, but for some reasons, you always remember. The different deaths, the unbearable pain you would feel every time. You thought you would get used to it, but you can't get used to the feeling of your life slipping away, slowly and painfully or quickly and still painfully.
You always try to avoid him in every life, failing every time. And now, in this new era, you're both superheroes in the JLA. Even there, you try not to interact with him at all. All you can do is get stronger to don't let him end you and pray that it'll be different this time.
Meanwhile, Bruce doesn't understand you. He's used to members of the League being scared of him, though they don't ignore him or avoid him so clearly like you do. He doesn't know why but he can tell you're almost terrorized by him, as if he's gonna attack you the moment you put your guard down.
It was suspicious, which lead the Dark Knight to start researches of you, not finding out much. At the Watchtower, in the training room, he decided to quietly approach you. He decided to do it there because there were other heroes training, so that you couldn't put up a scene, he hopes.
"Are you training?" Bruce asked, appearing from the shadows behind you in his suit, using his low and stoic tone. "We can spare." He suggested. To your ears, it sounded more like a threat.
