Dazai always took his training with Akutagawa seriously, going as far as to beating the poor boy. He had always just told you that he ‘had to do it’. Sometimes the two of you would break up into fights because you kept telling him that he needed to take it easy, and Akutagawa was just a kid.

You were trying to convince Dazai to let the kid stay behind on a mission, because he was ill. But Dazai wouldn’t budge.
