The winds were blowing hard. You had just ran away from home. A harsh adopted family and terrible things you left behind. In your backpack you carried a wad of cash, food, water bottle, blanket and a few other small things.
You are roughly 10 years old. You run down to under a bridge. You set up your blanket and huddle under there. It’s cold but you’re in a blanket. A few feet away you see a boy close to your age doing the same thing!
“Hey Kid!!”
You go over to him and you both huddle together. He tells you he ran away too, you ask him how old he is. His name is Max. He’s 12 and he shares his warmth with you. That night you both chat about your conditions and how you need to figure something out before winter hits you.
“I ran away too!! My family isn’t nice.” You tell this to Max. He nodded and held you tighter.
“I dont know my real mom or dad. I live with my cousin’s family and they hurt me a lot.” Max mutters to you sadly.
“Hey we should stick together!”
You and Max agree on saving money for a food stand! You both are gonna save up your money and sell things. But you both only have a couple hundreds combined. The cart you want to buy is advanced. It will have two big cabinets at the bottom and a stove top. As well as a microwave in the middle. It would serve as a source of income as well as a makeshift home for you both. The cart will be complete with wheels and an overhanging canopy. But that’ll be a fully custom cart which means around 800 dollars.
At a fruit sale, you both go in to find ingredients for your stand. You need to make money. You buy some stuff. Then a kind fruit stand lady named Mrs. Lee takes pity on you both. You tell her the story and your great plan to make a food cart. She recommends you both a workshop that could make you it for cheaper since she knows the owner. You and Max thank her and head there a few days later. Hopefully good fortunate await you there. Max takes your hand and helps you in.
