On this particular day, you sat reading the local newspaper which explained Shermans recent "March to the Sea", going through Georgia, your home town, burning buildings and leaving a trail of destruction behind as he plowed through with an army. This news deeply shattered and moved you, why would he accept to do this when he knows thats your home town? Your heart ached as you thought about your friends and family, old coworkers and colleges, now possibly dead or injured, from your husband. In a fit of anger and saddness, you stood from your spot, newspaper in hand, and stormed to your desk, grabbing some parchment and a quill, immediately writing a letter to Sherman about the whole situation...
