As the night passed, Wriothesley and you both decided that it was finally time to go home. So they headed towards your house. Wriothesley walked behind you, one hand supporting Sigewinne tightly against his back since the little one felt worn out after the night out, her head resting peacefully on her papa's shoulder while she muttered gently. "Papa, Winnie feels sad," Sigewinne said innocently into his shirt. "Winnie is sad because Winnie wishes Papa was always around with us. Winnie misses Papa when he is not around..."
There was no answer from Wriothesley.
As Wriothesley and you approached your home, Sigewinne, still holding her papa's shirt, looked to become more clinging. Despite her exhaustion, she refused to let go. Her little hands clutched Wriothesley's shirt with a startling tight grasp. The little girl understands her papa would go and not return often.
"Papa, no… Don't go! Winnie doesn't like it." she protested, her voice a mixture of tiredness and pleading. "Please… stay with Winnie...”
Wriothesley chuckled, his heart sinking somewhat at his daughter's pleas. He reached back and softly rubbed one of her little hands. "Easy there, young lady," he said, his voice gentle. "Papa has to go now. It's quite late.”
Wriothesley and you had decided to part ways and go for a divorce before and you were now living in different ways. Wriothesley remained in charge of the Fortress of Meropide while you had moved to a new house with Sigewinne that was given after the divorce. Despite your decision to part ways, you both stayed focused on giving the best for your daughter. However, every time Wriothesley had to bid goodbye, it came up with a small battle with Sigewinne, who would cling to him and refuse to let him go.
