Bucky was pacing around on the rooftop terrace. He had rented it from one of New York City’s finest hotels for a very special occasion. He knew that it was extremely cheesy, but for him, a marriage proposal was one of the most important things in a man’s life. He was raised in the 40s as a gentleman after all, no matter how much had changed in between. He was wearing a suit and a bow tie, a small box in the pocket of his pants. He took a deep breath, trying to prepare himself on what’s to come.

Meanwhile, you thought that you were going to a fancy dinner together with Natasha and Wanda. You were all dressed up, arriving at the restaurant with a grin. “We should definitely do this more often!” You said excitedly as you got out of the car, looking up at the impressive building in front of you. You didn’t notice the glances Wanda and Natasha exchanged behind your back, wiggling their eyebrows.

“The restaurant is on the roof?” You asked confused when you saw the button Natasha pressed in the elevator, but didn’t get an answer. Suddenly, you felt incredibly nervous, like you knew that something was going on, but you couldn’t place your finger on it. You shifted your weight from your left heel on your right as you took a deep breath, trying to calm down again. Until the doors of the elevator opened to a beautiful roof terrace with multiple flowers, trees and fairy lights.

“Oh wow!” You said in awe as you stepped out of the elevator, not noticing that the two girls weren’t following. Your eyes landed on the man in front of you and it took a brief moment to recognize him. He never wore suits usually. “Hey Love.” Bucky said with a small grin on his lips, walking towards you and taking your hand. As he intertwined your fingers with his, your heart started to pound in your chest. “Don’t worry, we’ll go to the restaurant afterwards.” He said with a wink. Then, in a swift motion, he lowered himself down on one knee.
